Autumn Lipstick Review

(L to R) Dazzling Plum, Coral Crush, 918D, 12.

This first color is Dazzling Plum by Maybelline. It applies on incredibly smoothly. It is advertised to be very sparkly, almost like a lipgloss, but it definitely isn't. Also the color was very dark on the tube and on my hand, but on my lips is more of a brown. I still like the color, it's just not what I was expecting. However, I really like the formula and how moisturizing and light it feels on the lips.

Ok, so I know coral is a summer lip color, but I still love it! This is Coral Crush by Maybelline. The formula is very similar to Dazzling Plum, but more opaque. It's more of a pink coral. It is somewhat long lasting.

This next coral color is #12 from the Kate Moss Rimmel London collection. It's very very creamy and opaque. It is ver heavy on the lips and seems to dry out my lips. However, it is a very long lasting color but can rub off easily. This is more of an orangey coral. I love the color, I just wish the formula was a bit different.

Ok, so my lips look very dry in this photo, but I had just applied and removed a few lippies before. This does not dry out my lips. This color is 918d from Wet n Wild. I LOVE this color! Definitely going to be my go to lipstick this fall. Also this is so cheap! It was only $2.99 at Rite Aid. I definitely suggest exfoliating your lips before applying because the dry bits of skin will stand out. The only thing I dislike about this lipstick is the shape. It's very impractical for application, especially because it does run a bit and is very noticeable if the lines aren't perfect. I just apply it with a lip brush and it works. It's VERY dark (the color below is the true color) I like using the lip brush because it is a bit more sheer. This is basically like a lip stain and is very long lasting. Also, I love how it makes my teeth look very white!

Next I want to get a nice nude color! If anyone has any suggestions let me know :)

DIY shell earrings

In this tutorial I will show you how to make cute shell earrings!
The first step is gathering the materials:
  • Two white shells of similar size
  • Mod Podge
  • Food coloring or dye
  • Earring Backings
  • Strong glue
  • Tooth pick

STEP 1: Pour out a bit of Mod Podge on a paper plate or surface. Using a tooth pick, add dye until you reach the desired color.
TIP: The color will be true to the color you mix, it will just dry transparent. Keep this in mind when you are trying to mix to a desired color :)

STEP 2: Paint on the Mod Podge with a paint brush.

TIP: I used the bristles to my advantage by getting in the grooves in the shell. When I first applied the glue, it took away from the texture of the shell, so I  followed the grooves with my brush to keep the shell texture :)

STEP 3: While the shells dry, get your glue (make sure it's a very strong glue! I used two part epoxy.)

STEP 4: Mix it!

STEP 5: Attach your earring backing.

Let it dry for the specified amount of time on the glue bottle.
And there you have it: shell earrings! I get compliments all the time and people are amazed when I say I've made them ;)

I also did this on shells without painting them with Mod Podge which is really nice too!

NYC haul

Here's what I purchased in New York City Sunday:

(from left to right)

Jeffrey Campbell Detention (actually ordered these from Solestruck, arrived today)
Pink Crochet Blouse : On sale for $10!
NYU hoodie: I needed a new one, I got paint on my old hoodie :(

Pins and Needles Velvet Mini Circle Skirt from Urban Outfitters: I have been wanting this for a while so I had to pick it up when I saw it!
Free People stripped cardigan from Bloomingdales: also on sale.

The purpose of my trip to NYC was to visit New York University. I had visited it last November, but before I begin applying to college I wanted to visit again. Love love love the campus (if you can even call it a campus) and the school. I'm planning on applying early decision to NYU :) I only have 15 days left to finish my supplements though! Oh no...

Jeffrey Campbell Detention.

Today I received the Detention boot by Jeffery Campbell! I don't own any nice boots so when I fell in love with these boots I knew I had to have them!

I was at school and my mom texted me photos of the boots... I ended up getting two pairs! I'll have to see if I was charged for two and how to return a pair. Maybe I can sell them and get a pair of Tardys! Hehe

So anyway.. About the shoe:
It seems like it's a bit big. I got an 8.5 but probably could have gotten an 8. I can wear thick socks, but then the boot looks buldgy :( These seem to be not as comfy as my Foxys, but they aren't terrible. The sole is just very thick so it just feels like the sole isn't very padded.

Currently lusting over these pieces!

I am so obsessed with the Jeffrey Campbell Tardy in velvet! This style is from a year or so ago so it's so difficult to find them in my size. :(
If anyone has the wine in size 8.5 I am willing to pay big bucks. Seriously let me know if anyone is considering selling a used pair!
I also want the American Apparel Riding Pant. It seems like a great pant to have for fall/winter.
I'm currently obsessed with maroon! I'm loving the maroon cardigan from Asos and the circle skirt from UO.
Velvet is definitely a texture I've been seeing around! I recently purchased purple velvet pillows for my bedroom so I'm totally obsessed with it now!

New Jeffrey Campbells!

These are my first ever pair of Jeffreys! They are the Urban Outfitters x JC Foxy. They were on sale for $90. It's so true what everyone says about the comfort! I'm not a huge heel wearer, but I managed to wear them the entire duration of the school day. They only problem I had was the shoe rubbing on my toe, which gave me a blister.
I've already ordered my second pair: the detention in tan!

So ready for fall!

Here's a quick photo of my outfit yesterday. Sorry for the lack of posts!

Maxi dress: Dots $15
Sweater: Free People
Scarf: Kohls $10
