How to style a maxi dress

I recently bought this maxi dress for $14.80 at Dot's! [here]
I wanted to show a few ways to wear it. This is my first maxi dress and honestly I didn't know if I would like it. I never realized how versatile maxi dresses are! I'm in love and I plan on purchasing more!

Here's the dress. It is maroon with a slight scoop in the back. It's soft and casual.

I paired it with a black lace tshirt and black bootie wedges.
SHIRT: Urban Outfitters
SHOES: UrbanOG

For the second look I paired it with a woven shawl, strappy sandals, and some fringed earrings.

Haul on a budget!

I had about $100 left to spend for back to school so I decided to shop locally and, of course, cheaply! I picked up 3 dresses and 2 tops from TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Dots. Here's a photo of two of the dresses. I hope to have a post of how I will style the items or a haul post or something by the weekend! Stay tuned xx

DIY Love Wire Ring

Saw a photo today of a wire ring for sale and I figured I could DIY it! So here's a few photos of it; my fish eye really makes my fingers look like sausages haha!

Doily Art DIY

STEP 1.) Remove any paper backing buy cutting it out with scissors.

STEP 2.) Remove the back. If you are using a frame that was purchased to personalize it with one's photos you will have to remove ONLY the stock photo graph. You can do this on the stock photo or cut a piece of cardboard in whatever size your frame is. I used a frame that was meant for displaying the art work that is originally in the frame, so I cannot remove it. This step may vary.

STEP 3.) Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge or glue to the surface you will be working with.

STEP 4.) Stick the patterned paper to the glue. You can print a pattern from the internet or buy a patterned paper. I suggest using a pattern that it will not matter if the edges match up exactly or else this could take you forever! And DEFINITELY use a pattern that REPEATS. I would advise against large floral patterns or things like that.

STEP 5.) Glue the edges to seal them. If you are using a gloss finish glue (like me) paint the entire surface. I did not do that in this step, but I did it last once I realized the glue areas had a different finish. So do that in this step.
STEP 6.) Put a large circle, square, whatever shape doily you are using in the middle of the frame.
STEP 7.)  Glue down extra ares that did not fall within the glue circle.

STEP 8.) Paint a layer of glue over the doily to make sure it stays in place. Put the cardboard, photo, whatever back into the frame and voilà! Doily wall art!

SHORT HAIR!

Finally got my hair cut short! I wanted to for a while, but I didn't want to end up having a bad haircut for my senior photos. Turns out it looks great and I really wish I cut it for my photos. Oh well :( I'm really happy with how it turned out.

GLITTER FAB

Yesterday was national best friend's day! So what better to do than glitterify things with your best friend?

To do the above items: I simply painted a thin layer of Mod Podge on the surface and spinkled, shaked, rolled, or pressed the glitter onto the surface. For the iPhone case I let it dry, then added 2 extra layers of Mod Podge to seal the glitter.
I absolutely love the pink and silver glitter small vases I made. My bathroom was remodeled and the drawers are so tiny! Now I have all of my essentials stored on the counter. Now to just get a mirror and light fixtures for the bathroom...
My friend gilttered a frame, a wine glass, some pencils and pens, and a square vase.

A Fresh Start!

Hello to no one at all! My name is Mackenzie. I'm 17, a rising senior in high school. I live in the USA and I basically love fashion. So I decided to begin my own blog to document my fashion journey!
