New Jeffrey Campbells

I finally got the Tardys! It's an older style so it was difficult to find them available. I really wanted the wine velvet ones but I figured the black would match with everything. I couldn't find the velvet ones for sale anyway! I also saw the Suebee on Solestruck and fell in love! My parents got me the orange fur for Christmas, but I won't wear them until it gets warmer anyway.
I bought the Tardys a half size smaller and they fit perfect. I also got the Suebee a half size smaller and they fit.

Autumn Lipstick Review

(L to R) Dazzling Plum, Coral Crush, 918D, 12.

This first color is Dazzling Plum by Maybelline. It applies on incredibly smoothly. It is advertised to be very sparkly, almost like a lipgloss, but it definitely isn't. Also the color was very dark on the tube and on my hand, but on my lips is more of a brown. I still like the color, it's just not what I was expecting. However, I really like the formula and how moisturizing and light it feels on the lips.

Ok, so I know coral is a summer lip color, but I still love it! This is Coral Crush by Maybelline. The formula is very similar to Dazzling Plum, but more opaque. It's more of a pink coral. It is somewhat long lasting.

This next coral color is #12 from the Kate Moss Rimmel London collection. It's very very creamy and opaque. It is ver heavy on the lips and seems to dry out my lips. However, it is a very long lasting color but can rub off easily. This is more of an orangey coral. I love the color, I just wish the formula was a bit different.

Ok, so my lips look very dry in this photo, but I had just applied and removed a few lippies before. This does not dry out my lips. This color is 918d from Wet n Wild. I LOVE this color! Definitely going to be my go to lipstick this fall. Also this is so cheap! It was only $2.99 at Rite Aid. I definitely suggest exfoliating your lips before applying because the dry bits of skin will stand out. The only thing I dislike about this lipstick is the shape. It's very impractical for application, especially because it does run a bit and is very noticeable if the lines aren't perfect. I just apply it with a lip brush and it works. It's VERY dark (the color below is the true color) I like using the lip brush because it is a bit more sheer. This is basically like a lip stain and is very long lasting. Also, I love how it makes my teeth look very white!

Next I want to get a nice nude color! If anyone has any suggestions let me know :)

DIY shell earrings

In this tutorial I will show you how to make cute shell earrings!
The first step is gathering the materials:
  • Two white shells of similar size
  • Mod Podge
  • Food coloring or dye
  • Earring Backings
  • Strong glue
  • Tooth pick

STEP 1: Pour out a bit of Mod Podge on a paper plate or surface. Using a tooth pick, add dye until you reach the desired color.
TIP: The color will be true to the color you mix, it will just dry transparent. Keep this in mind when you are trying to mix to a desired color :)

STEP 2: Paint on the Mod Podge with a paint brush.

TIP: I used the bristles to my advantage by getting in the grooves in the shell. When I first applied the glue, it took away from the texture of the shell, so I  followed the grooves with my brush to keep the shell texture :)

STEP 3: While the shells dry, get your glue (make sure it's a very strong glue! I used two part epoxy.)

STEP 4: Mix it!

STEP 5: Attach your earring backing.

Let it dry for the specified amount of time on the glue bottle.
And there you have it: shell earrings! I get compliments all the time and people are amazed when I say I've made them ;)

I also did this on shells without painting them with Mod Podge which is really nice too!

NYC haul

Here's what I purchased in New York City Sunday:

(from left to right)

Jeffrey Campbell Detention (actually ordered these from Solestruck, arrived today)
Pink Crochet Blouse : On sale for $10!
NYU hoodie: I needed a new one, I got paint on my old hoodie :(

Pins and Needles Velvet Mini Circle Skirt from Urban Outfitters: I have been wanting this for a while so I had to pick it up when I saw it!
Free People stripped cardigan from Bloomingdales: also on sale.

The purpose of my trip to NYC was to visit New York University. I had visited it last November, but before I begin applying to college I wanted to visit again. Love love love the campus (if you can even call it a campus) and the school. I'm planning on applying early decision to NYU :) I only have 15 days left to finish my supplements though! Oh no...
